According to FedEx the Four Star Program is a yearly program designed to reward those contractors who have excelled in service, safety, availability, and load acceptance.

At least 70 percent availability
At least 70 percent load acceptance
It runs for the fiscal year from June 1 – May 31. Each quarter FedEx advises CONTRACTORS who are in the running for the event. Any contractor meeting criteria for the year will become a finalist. The Final 50 winners will be determined by the GREATEST number of runs completed.
The program is more than a safety program. The program does use data such as the NUMBER of runs completed. This is not the only contractor incentive program that FedEx offers.
