Ford Econoline water pumps

Was wondering howe many miles the water pumps are lasting on the Ford vans. I have a 5.4 L gasoline. I have 400,000 miles on mine now. Am I pushing my luck?

I think the 5.4 liter = the 351 engine at that milage I would say consider having one on hand if you have the dough just in case or swap it out. Unless you bought it new, you dont know the maintenance history. I try to stock up on wear items anyway because I will need them. Otherwise contact a Ford rental truck service dept. Give them the year, make, model, and milage and if thier honest they will tell you what the recomended take off or replacement milage is. Most rental srevice departments are usualy helpfull since they would rather replace it in a shop rather than on the side of the road.
