Ford 7.3 Deisel Powerstroke

I am running the above, and would appreciate any comments/suggestions that will help me get the best performance/longevity from this unit.
I bought it new 2002 and at the moment have 30,000 miles on it. I am changing the oil every 5000. What about all these claims that synthetic and pour-ins help? Money well spent or money just spent? Am enjoying the job, but welcome the advice and experience of others, Thanks, KL

You might want to check out www.trucktrend.com . I get the magazine and they have alot of info on the powerstroke, cummings and duramax engines. The powerstroke is getting a few changes to bump up horse power and make it quieter. Also, the magazine has tips for getting more power out of the powerstroke. Hope this helps.
