Just rec'ed the FAST Transponder/Bridge Decal, already have a FAST card. I am curious as if I can cross either direction (US - Canada ; Canada - US)at the border EMPTY using a FAST, or must I be loaded with a FAST "approved" load? Thanks for the help.

Assuming you are talking about using a FAST lane when empty, my experience has been that it is a grey area. For going into Canada I was given a card that only had my carriers I.D. on it. I was told this was for using the FAST lane coming in empty and with dunnage. Some officers were fine with it, others said not to use the FAST lane. I decided to not use the FAST lane empty going either way to avoid any confusion.

I have had the same experiences as Highway Star when it comes to which lane to use .So now when mt I use regular lanes but I show my FAST card everytime I cross mt or loaded. To add to the confusion sometimes the sign above the FAST lanes in Detriot say mt's and sometimes it doesn't.I think they just like making it difficult.Gives them a reason to use they greater than thou attitude.

I doubt it's that, Bryan. Maybe they want mt trucks to use the fast lane to keep the other lanes moving. If there's little or no traffic, then empties would use normal lanes. Make sense?
