Expeditor's delight

[B][Center]Knights of the road
In their well used jeans
Driving the highways
Along side their queens

We’ve seen it all
Or most of it now
Brilliance of sunsets
And sunrises WOW

Our thoughts of nightlife
Are different than most
We swear by the animals
That’s we’ve turned into ghosts

Oh give me a moose guard
To protect my front hood
Any protection
Has got to be good

From country to country
From mountain to sea
We’ve crossed it all
Just Papa and me

I look over
And see him asleep
Thinking that only
The road lulls to sleep

Expeditors they call us
As we keep rolling on
From late in the evening
Way into the dawn

Yep, we’ll make the deadline
As sure as can be
As long as Mother Nature
Doesn’t make us go pee!

Newt..that's the hubby's favorite poem..*l*

Diva..one more inspiration from a few winters back as I was getting used to the LONG Canadian winters.

                                     the wind forlorn
                                     so bleak and bare
                                     the shutters torn
                                     doth raise a prayer

                                     how my soul
                                     shivers with cold
                                     wouldst thou spring
                                     be big and bold

                                     a crocus dainty
                                     and so pale
                                     invokes the hope
                                     that does prevail

                                     ah, but the sun
                                     would shine on me
                                     and bear the fruits
                                     on all God's trees

She says with a grin,
oh Lordy Diva, you want it again?
What should I post
that you'd enjoy the most?

Tickling the TeaCel
or ribbing the Weave
Chuckling at Newt
I like Larry's main squeeze

The doc kept me grounded
while Ken took the load
Cabin fever set in
just might have to sew!

Four walls do close in
on us quicker than most
but it sure makes it easy
for coffee and toast

Oh man I've got
to get back on the road
before this old gal
turns into a toad!

THERE ONCE WAS A LADY NAMED JUJU
RUNNING AROUND IN HER CURLERS AND MU-MU
CONFINED TO THE HOUSE
THAT DOCTOR’S A LOUSE
CAUSE SHE FEARS THAT SHE’S GONNA GO COO-COO

NOW WHAT IS THE ANSWER YOU ASK
EO BUDDIES PUT THEIR BRAIN TO THIS TASK
JUST DOUBLE-UP YOUR POSTS
SEND EM’ OUT COAST TO COAST
THIS WILL KEEP YOU AWAY FROM THE FLASK!!!!!

whilst away from the boss
Gotta chuckle with the Diva!

Hubby's circling the map
as I take this to task
my pen, alas, is all drivel!

If he saw me in this
all relaxed and in bliss
we would undoubtedly quibble.

So pray to the great
Dispatch Gods of the sky
Please let that driving circle shrink!

To get him really close
and pick me back up
or I'm inviting the Diva to drink!!

Lookin' from the outside,
Standin' on a limb;
Tryin' to see the action -
Want to take a spin.

Someone gotta' tell me
Which is right or wrong,
Cause I'm gonna' stick my foot
Where you know it don't belong.

Lookin' for your answers,
Listenin' for your tales,
I gotta' get this started
Before my age can tell.

I know that you can help me,
I know you know thw way;
Your website is for surfin'
If expedite is gonna' pay.

So have a little patience -
Results you may not see.
The road is still my calling,
But I'm still a Wannabe!

Thanks, JuJu
I was inspired by your poetry; and just #$HD%$ bored at work, watching those two machines make parts - and ignoring me.
Tinman

Today the CHevy dealer made alot of sense to me;
The rebates matched my budget - he handed me the key.

At first I thought it funny, as I peered into my void;
No packages, no plywood floor, no E-track - just a door.

But, then the light came brightly(I bet all of you just knew)
The innerds and the outards paled,
'Cause there ain't no revenue!

Is this the horse, or is this the cart?, I hardly know the two.
Let's hope this plan is working right.
Please! maye that recruiter's word be true.

The CDL, the endless forms - to get them done a feat.
But for me to move beyond the gate,
Experiene I must now meet.

How to get it! Where to go? No one to show the way.
The quest first hungered, then relaxed, as my frustration grew.
But an offer came, and I replied.
He said, "I guess you'll do...".

So now my van, with me inside, are closer than before;
Who knows? my plan might grow quite large,
And open Landstar's door!

The goal, though far, in focus slight, is closer than before -
My pledge - to see you all again
On Detroiter's Expo shore!

and, GO CHIEFS!!(KC)

Tinman...that was QUITE the poem...you're pretty eloquent and I wanted to wish you luck with your new venture. Wasn't clear as to whether Landstar was the wish list or the job offer, but I understand Landstar doesn't put new vans on now according to the recruiter at the detroiter expo this year. So get a little experience under your belt and go for it! We've found this endeavor works best with a great attitude and never saying no. Hubby and I run a van out of Canada under Dynamex and they've treated us pretty well. He finally got home after about a week out so am guessing we'll be back on the road by tonight. But I promise I'll try to come up with another poem that does yours justice. I need the inspiration of the road again. Something about that rhythm of the road!
Good luck guy...got a feeling you're going to be successful!

Thanks again, JuJu

Landstar is my wish list. I am going to drive local and some out-of-state for Eagle Global Logistics for entry level experience.

I was on a roll last night, with poems and my machines (only one more of that!). Here's my last, and least, offering:

I once ran over a rooster
- I thought it was a pear.
It was night, you see, and tired was me
- and sleep displaced my care.

My wife, she didn't waken
- the "splut" was not so loud.
The spray of feathers, slightly bent,
went floating, as a cloud.

I sat up quick and glanced to see
If others caught my act.
If others saw it, none replied
- ah, the darkness covered fact.

Well, the bird is gone - its light is out;
But I rue its death, you see:
For now its HUNGER in my path,
and thoughgts of fricassee.

I hope to meet you and Hubby somewhere down the road.
Tinman (I wonder what the machines and I will do tonight...)

My poetry sucks but I tried! *LOL*

I've run so much Michigan
So I says to dispatch "anywhere other than a place that starts with M"
MICHIGAN
So where do I end up
MONTREAL!!! and then from there to
MASSACHUSETTS!! and a return from CT to? you guessed it
MONTREAL!!

Life is grand! :)
