Everyone has given great ideas here.

One thing I actually picked up from an RV show is having a bunch of small bungee cords. You never know when you'll need them, and you can get them cheap at Walmart or anywhere. A good way to store them is on a piece of 3 inch PVC pipe cut to length. Just stretch the cords and clip them on the pipe. When you need them to secure an item, they're all neat, untangled, and easily accessable.

Something I would like to ad, especially for anyone who runs vans.

When you finally figure out what you want to take, do some planning ahead of time, and make plans for storing all the stuff. Build shelves along the sides of the van, ad a cabinet, whatever.

Don't be one of 'those guys'.. and we've all seen them..., map book, notebooks, snacks, flashlights, etc... all on the dash.... the passenger seat piled high to window level... and then they open the back door to load, and stuff falls out on the ground, bottles and cans are rollin across the ground, and they're 'cussin and fussin' as they try to stuff things back away while the forklift driver sits there looking disgusted!

It looks bad, plus it's unsafe. A quick stop, a sudden turn, you have 25 unguided missiles flying thru the air. NOthing like seeing some guy swerving all over the road because he hit his brakes and half the stuff on his passenger seat fell off, including his microwave .... with his meal cooking in it....

THAT'S when you know you've truly seen it all..LOL...
