Entering into a 90/10 lease purchase. Anyone done

On Friday I take over payments on a 2005 Ford E350 cargo van. This situation will be a 90/10 lease. I have been out of expediting since 98 and thought this would be my best bet of getting back into the mix. Has anyone ever tried a situation like this. I have been crunching the numbers and the Van is going to have to gross $1500 for me to make $500 is this possible?

There have been a number of threads on van earnings so do a search as well as going back through the last many months of topic titles. That said, to gross $1500 at 77cpm requires about 1950 loaded miles per week. I'm not including fsc on the theory leaving it out offsets the d/h miles. That said, I don't see a van averaging 1950 loaded miles per week. I'd consider an average of 1500 loaded per week a fairly high average, especially if you are diluting it with time off.

I feel I must say this again. Make sure you have a solid contract before you take the keys.

Anything is possible, but I would say 'unless you are running a dedicated route or scheduled runs per week the $1500 each week is not practical.' $1000 is a more reasonable number but then you will be working for ZERO pay.
