Eaton Auto Shift Temps.

Does anybody know the safe upper temperature limit for an 10 speed Eaton Auto Shift. Our truck is a 2005 Freightliner Columbia, with a MBE 4000.

my auto shift at 75 mph in the desert will go 190 degrees

With the proper synthetic oil, anything under 250 will be fine. Normal is usually between 160 and 220 depending on load and outside temps.

Thanks guys. We were running just a little over 200 today. Running across Gulf Coast, ambient temps around 100. Sounds like I am in good shape.
