I read your column in the recent On Time with great interest. I too agree that one of the keys to any sucessful venture is communications. The word "comunication" indicates that at least two parties are involved. You are not comunicating with your contractors by publishing a column. Inorder for it to be comunication, you must all allow us to voice our views, and then provide feedback.
Let's take a look at some of the ways we can accomplish this two way dialog.
1. The contractor concil is a good idea. However, ask your contractors how many know who a concil member is, or how to get in touch with them, and you will get a blank look from 90% of them.
2. The new web site is good. One thing you might want to consider is providing a way for us to voice our ideas and opions on it.
3. When you make changes which affect your contractors, let them know.
I am sure that if you take time to listen to what your contractors and drivers have to say, you will find that we are not at odds with what the company is striving toward. Your success, is our success.
COmunications is an interesting word. So is COoperation.
