Dealers and Customer Service

Went by the dealer today to complete the purchase of an 03 T300 and inadvertently gave them $500 too much of a deposit. No biggie, I'll just make it easy on them (don't have to process a refund) and spend a few bucks more and get one of the many seats on sale in their parts department. So I decide on one and with the sales person and parts guy standing there, I said "you guys will install that right?" The response was yes but we will have to charge you. I mentioned that I am spending $26k on a truck off them AND another $800 on a seat you're gonna bill me to put it in? Sales person says they will even charge her for work done on truck she is trying to sell but goes off to service to see what they say. Service guy tells her 1 to 1.5 hours labour to remove the stock seat and install the new one. Is it me or does this seem whacked or what? Out of curiosity, how long would swapping a seat take...............maybe 30 minutes if that? 4 bolts and an air line right?

I don't know about 30 minutes, but I believe I could swap one easy under an hour. But the whole point is, after trading trucks, you would think they could fudge an hour to swap a seat for you. Bet you remember that next time you need another truck.

I'd have thought it would be a quick job, just 4 bolts and an air line right? In any case, you can bet it won't be forgotten in 3-4 years when I go looking to spec a new truck.
