I own a 1975 Mbenz 1517 bullnose truck with the mbenz OM 352 engine. Or OM 360? On the left the round instrumental display rev counter in the center, left the oil pressure , right the engine temp and at the bottom the fuel level.
Only the oil pressure funtional. I opened dash and everything looks normal at the back. Exept for rev counter the other three needles works of electrical wires that is pluged into the unit. When i bump the unit the fuel and temp needles go to normal positions. Fuel to emty and temp to zero or bottom. When i turn on the ignition before starting the above two needles jump to their max and remain there. If i turn off ignition and give the gauhes a sligt bump or tap on front glass they fall back to zero.
Only need the temp gauge to work. The sennder is close to the waterpump and two wires are pluged in. Should i try to switch them around? Otherwise i must mage a hole in dash and fit a new temp gauge. Will unscrew the old sender to get correct thread amd size for new one. But should someone got tips to sort out the original i would gladly hear from them. The original sender got the following nrs in it
803/4/7 and 5 95 and 100degrees cel + 6 degrees and also 6- 24v 120 degrees C 3w and vdo made in Germany
