I have been researching this business for a while and have deicded that it is something i want to do, and have the trucking background to know what is expected on the road-i found a 1999 Sterling, C-10 cat 310hp, fuller 9speed, jake, all power, nice smaller(60") condo bunk 205K mi extremely clean and well maintained-the owner wants off the road and wants the payoff for the truck which is $33,500. Is this a decent price for this rig?
thanks

that seems to high must be from a dealer have you looked at the ads on this site. you can get a better deal than that, alot of people wanting out of this buisness you can find trucks with good warranty left on them cheaper than that. try to get best deal you can it will help out if your just starting out

Well this is what i learned in looking for my first truck..I just found it and im closing the deal in a couple of days...Dont buy the first thing you find...I have a family member do that and now he is kicking his self in the #####...He got a Fl70...Granted they are decent and do a good job but you need to look at the big picture...Does it have a reliable motor,Trans,Does it have the options you want or need,Has it been maintained good.If you can stay away from dealers or if you do deal with a dealer talk him way down...I went to 5 dealers in one week and looked at truckes...I know where there are some if you would like the web address...I found a Western Star that im buying...Do a good inspection of everything...Inside and out..Remember you will almost be living in it for maybe days, weeks or what ever. From what i have been told stay away from some of the cat motors....Do a search on here and do a lot of reading on what combinations people are running...Well if you would like some web address of trucks let me know...Hope this helps you a little

I have been looking around for a while and this so far seems to be a good deal-i do not want a sub-300hp city truck with a bunk-i want a stretched single axle road tractor and this is what i am looking at-if it were an fl70 or fl80 it would be high, but the smallest freighliner i would take is an fl106, would really like a T300 but they are sky high
