Confused about truck classifications

The trucks in the buyers guide on this site, are they class b or class a? Most of them look like they are class a, but I don't know about this type of stuff anyway. What would be a good beginner straight truck and what's the best company to work for? I'm looking to get a truck in January, and just need some advice. Thanks

When we say Class A or B, that is talking about the kind of license required. Tractor Trailors require a Class A license, while Straight Trucks require Class B.

The other thing that might be confusing you is a Class 7 or Class 8 truck? (I'm guessing here)... Class 7's are usually medium duty delivery trucks converted to Expedite use, while Class 8's are usually Semi Tractors that have had the frames extended and a box added.

Dreamer nail it. Also a "A" cargo van is able to carry 500 lbs. A "B" size van is in the 2 to 3000 lbs. category and a "C" unit typically needs to be able to load 5000 lbs. while a "D" is generally able to load up to 13,000 lbs, and the "E" unit would be a tractor trailer and should be able to load 44,000 lbs. Hope this doesn't add to the confusion, but helps with some of the lingo.
