Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the land
Not many expediters were rolling
Bad weather was at hand.
Many had already headed home
They did not want to push their luck
While others stayed out longer
Hoping to make another buck
Then what to my wondering eyes
Should appear on the weather station
News of an approaching ice storm
That would cover the entire nation
Now the drivers all know
To seek shelter at this time
Not like the car drivers
Who stay out for no reason nor rhyme
As they all headed for
The nearest Pilot or Flying J
They knew what they were in for
Was a cold overnight stay
They stocked up on water
Along with ramen noodles and jerky
Not one would go hungry
Or be even a little thirsty
As I sit here at home
Writing this by firelight
I want to wish Merry Christmas to all
And to all a Good Night
