I have a bead on a 2000 Chevy 3500 C van price is not bad gasoline engine I wanted to get an idea of what demons to look for on gmc/chevy vans and how much per mile it works out for maintainence tires, oilchanges, etc. Also what kind of milage to expect. Im not going to hold anyone to exact numbers but a close real estimate will work so I can decide if its cost effective.

Thanks.
Bob Wolf.

All that depends on how many miles are on it, especially since it's a 12-year-old van.

I have a '98 2500 Chevy van, it has 259,000 miles on it right now. I get about 15.5 miles per gallon, otherwise maintenance costs are about what you'd expect on a vehicle with these miles on it.

Engine is a 5.7 gas, 4 speed automatic. I had the fuel pump replaced, a belt tensioner replaced, the battery, tires. Note that I bought it with 183,000 on it and it wasn't in great shape by any means, but all the major stuff seems to be OK. It uses a quart in maybe 8,000 miles, so I can't fault the engine anyhow.
