carrier apu water pump

I have a carrier apu with a little less than 3000 hours on it with 1 year in service.

in that time I have had three water pumps replace due to leaking, now the forth pump is leaking also.

has anybody else had this problem and if so what was the final solution?

Are you talking about the water pump on the engine or is there some other water pump for circulation for heat?

If it is the water pump on the engine, check the belt tension - it is a fast way to mess up the pump. I would assume carrier would be concern with it.

engine coolant pump.
all of the replacements have been done by carrier techs. Shouldn't they know how tight to make a belt. Even the original factory pump only lasted 750 hours. (but I guess that doesn't mean they did it right)

according to carrier weeping from the waterpump is "normal" and they no longer replace water pumps unless the leak is at a constant flow.

at least that's what they told me when I called the tech line. what a bunch of Bullcr*p.

now im stuck with it till is has a catatrophic failure. so why put the weep hole on the pump in the first place.

I am so unhappy with my carrier apu.
