Ok Folks I need alittle info and would be happy for any help I can get. I'm wanting to go in business for myself. I'm going to purchase a cargo van. Was thinking either Con-Way or Panther 2 unless there is another company that is good at keeping vans moveing. Since this is going to be a big step in my life looking for any info I can get. Not looking to get rich at this just wanting to support my family and better my income. I have been expediting for 5 yrs now in a straigh truck and feel its time to go in business for myself and not make money for others. Can anyone give me some feed back on the cargo vans??? What is a good company to lease them too???

Thanks for all your help and be safe out there.:7

This time of year many of the companys are not adding cargo vans, so you might want to start calling carriers and see if there is truly an opportunity for you. Good luck.

I think the most important thing to do is have enough money saved to cover at least 3 to 4 months of bills. If you keep this amount in the bank, it will make things alot easier, and less stressful.

Secondly, call the recruiters from all the companies.

Finally, talk to drivers from the companies you are considering. I think you have a better chance of getting the straight poop from talking to those drivers at a truck stop.

Oh, yeah. Best of Luck. I hope it will be as enjoyable and profitable as it has been for myself.

panther is signing vans. I am going to call them monday to set a time for orentation. Nice thing about them, they will let you run a 96 or newer. Most want 2000 or newer. You can get started with a nice older van. No matter what you buy make sure it is 1 ton and extened. The more room and payload the better :)

Good luck!
