Career change advice

Seasoned Expediter
Hello. I have a question. Im considering expediting as a career change. Im considering a cargo van. Acutally I would only consider a cargo van. What I am wondering is, is the following scenario possible:

I want to be an o/o that is homebased in southern California, San Diego area...and drive primarily in California only. Anywhere in California would be fine with me as would be the bordering states from time to time.

Im not really interested in getting too much into the financial analysis of this...just yet....What I am concerned with is hearing other peoples experiences in California, specifically. Is there enough work in the state of California to keep the van moving at least 3 weeks per month?

Thank you.

**Ill give you some basic info in case you are wondering, in New York, male, mid-30's, been a lawyer for 10 years, single, no kids, no pets, soon to have no home, and really looking for a change of life that allows me to be on the road in the areas of the country that i love.

I read them. I understand why people do this. What Im wondering was whether or not anyone had experience limiting themselves to the State of California and whether or not such a plan was possible.

I ve always thought a guy could do pretty well out there in a straight truck, no personal expreience w/ a van though. All over Cal,
Phoenix, Reno, maybe over to salt lake once in a while. Might depend on who you re with.

Someone from UPS Expedite mentioned on this site about a month ago that they were looking for vans to run freight out of LAX to all areas of SoCal. You might check with them....by the way,how are Alice and Ray??
