California runs with new CARB rules...

Yuppers. We just got knocked out of Cali runs because our truck and reefer do not meet the emission standards that just kicked in Jan 1, 2013. Any one else out there being affected? How is it changing your strategy, if at all?

We depended on at least 1 Cali load every other week. Helped balance the ol' books, so to speak. Now I'm going to have to figure the cost/benefits of having the exhaust filters installed on the truck/reefer, to see if there is a payoff.

Just wondering.....

We don't depend on Cali loads at all. We seldom run 5 a year and our bottom line tends to be better when we don't run them.

I find it amazing that carriers are not filing suite against these regs given the fact that much of the work was done by an unqualified person. Gutless if you ask me.

My reefer, and truck, are running will and are now in the 'profit' side of their life. To spend large amounts of money would eliminate that. IF this green stuff that Cali is wrongly pushing spreads, I am out of the business.
