what is the latest and greatest about older trucks in the big CA?? (example) can you still drive a 2005 tractor in and out of the state, or does it have to be modified??

You can either get a 3 day pass, a 1,000 mile allowance, prove financial hardship (and own 3 or fewer trucks), modify by installing a particulate filter, or be one of the 3 aforementioned trucks, with one already being modified or replaced. Hope that helps. I know, clear as mud.

Thank you very much!

I have all ca approved trucks. My reefer trucks do good going out there but it's a wash on my drybox as the dpf cost me as much to maintain/repair through the year on it as I make on extra runs to CA. But the newer scr/dpf trucks do much better.
