Fifteen Flying J Travel Plazas, including three in Northwest Indiana, are being acquired by Bosselman Boss Shops, the company announced Monday.

The management changes will begin Tuesday with the full transition expected to be complete by year's end. The three local plazas involved in the transaction include those in Gary, Lake Station and Hebron.

"We're working to broaden our footprint across the country in the truck repair business," Chuck Bosselman, president of Bosselman, Inc., said in a prepared statement issued Monday. "This addition of more shops in our network will greatly benefit both existing and new customers. The trucking industry is constantly looking for repair facilities that they can trust to do their over-the-road work for them, and after 61 years in this industry, Boss Shops are targeting that need through quality service and competitive pricing."

Adding the 15 locations to the Bosselman chain, headquartered in Grand Island, Neb., brings the company's assets to a total of 25 shops in 18 states.

Services offered at Boss Shops include tires, quick lube oil changes, and brake, electrical, drive train, air conditioning and other repairs, as well as roadside service. Boss Shops carry tire lines including Bridgestone, Firestone, Michelin, BF Goodrich, Goodyear, and DynaTrac, along with a Chrome Store.

It makes sense. Didn't Pilot buy out majority ownership in Bosselman's awhile back?
Now Pilot has bailed out FlyingJ. The coffee can changed to anything besides Maxwell house tea water, and I'll be happy. Keep the resturaunts, don't let the bathrooms become outhouses. Be really nice if the showers stayed on your card much, much longer than a week, could think of somemore, oh, yea, the carrot cake..... omg yummers.
