I guess even Big Brother is here on this site.

Was reading a thread on here and a Moderator(big brother) decided that it had run its course and locked it.

So much for free speech.

Flat top,

Free speech only goes so far. When a thread violates our Code of Conduct, it will be locked.

The privilege of "free speech" is not without expectations and requirements even in the great big world. Unlimited free speech does not exist. One may not cry fire in a theater, incite to riot and any number of things that could be argued as "free speech". When one is a guest of another, just as we are when we are here on EO, the need to abide by the expectations of the host override whatever the visitor considers appropriate. The moderation here is very minimal compared to some, where even one discussion outside the topic of the forum will draw a reprimand. Thankfully, it is also more structured than some, where the inmates are running the assylum.

Guess you didn't hear the news, the inmates escaped and opened their own assylum and the old jail keeper locked the doors and called a lawyer!

No offense, but if you read the amendment in the Bill of Rights pertaining to free speech it says "Congress" will not keep you from having free speech. Not EO.

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I got that from Cornell Law School. A little more credible than Wikipedia. Here's the link if you want to look it up yourself. Lawerence, or anyone else, didn't infringe on your rights. I wish we could put the 1st Amendment up as a sticky so maybe people will get an understanding that it's Congress that won't abridge not a private entity.
