Hi my name is phil,
I'm here to let evry one know how bad Internationals are.
I bought a 2007 International 5900I tractor brand new.
At 3000 miles they had to replace the head, there was a burr in fuel injectors kept smoking.
Then it went back in because of the axle nuts kept loosening,
I then asked if thats normal told me yes, come to find out its not.
The list goes on from there, 33 repair orders and 52 problems.
In a 12 to 13 month period.
In July 23 2008 my truck caught on fire burnt to the ground,
Had an investigation done found Navistar and Libberty International on Notice for electrical problems and the dealership for not putting writing up other repair orders.
a week b4 my truck burnt down I called evrybody from Cummins rep to Navistar rep Fred Medieros they all told me nothing wrong.
I brought the truck back to the dealership because my engine came on.
At first they was not gonna take me then I called cummins talked to them because they just a turbo on it.
Told me to go at 3-4pm afternoon.
Supervisor came out stomped the throttle the truck smoked looked at me an said,
There is nothing wrong with this truck stop worrying about the small stuff and drive the gd **** thing.
A week and half later caught fire burnt up .
The truck had only 93,888 miles.
I have been doing a lot of research and my finding is that in the year i bought my truck International had a wiring problem tried to cover up, until to many started complaing.
They recall 51,888 trucks because electrical issues then another 10,000 light duty trucks and busses,.
I found web sites about Navistar trying to cover up stuff.
I have found about 25 other companies having the same issues.
If you or your company having electrical problems please let me know.:(
If you are experiencing this my prayers and thoughts are with you.
