hi I got cdl in end of 07 drove straight truck for less than year liked it but got out of it lack of work got a speeding ticket laid off did not pay it suspended license got a ticket for that took about 2 years to straighten things out been over 2 years now with no tickets and i drive for a taxi for the last 1 and 1/2 but like truck better any advice on where to go who might hire me have valid cdl a but no recent exp would like to drive class b. Seems like i keep getting turned down just went rough spot 44 years old seems like a couple of bad years is killing me even though work history was great 20 years at uofm maybee should have stayed there

Best advice i could give you is go to the front page of this website, on the right there will be a list of carriers. Write down their info and start calling them one by one and talk to their recruiters. If they turn you down, scratch them off the list and move on. Also when you do land a spot at a company working for a fleet owner, do some reaserch on them, dont just go into it blindly. Ask to talk to current and previous drivers, if they refuse to let you talk to them, then i would refuse to work for them. Dont just jump at the first oppertunity that comes along as it might be the wrong choice.

This is what i did almost 7 years ago, as i was in a similar situation.
