Alcohol can be one of the toughest addictions to beat. It destroyed my father's life and changed our family, maybe for the better maybe for the worse.

I did a 12 step program about 10 yrs ago and it changed my life. AA/NA are wonderful programs and have saved a lot of lives.

My brother was hit by a drunk driver on his motorcycle last month. He has 12 months before he can learn to walk again.

He was on life support for a week and only 24 years old.

Unfortunately it was an illegal immigrant that hit him and he got out of jail in an hour of booking.

My brother died from cirrhosis of the liver due to chronic alcoholism at age 47. While I was never more than a social drinker (once a month on average), I haven't touched the stuff in years. Jeff has been sober since 1989.
