air suspension question
I was backed into a my loading dock yesterday and forgot to dump my air springs...We went in and out of the trailer with a forklift unloading pallets all day, then this morning I started up the truck to go and the air pressure wouldn't build past 80 psi so I went to the back of the truck and the leveling valve kept blowing air by like I was throwing the lever in the cab to dump the air.. I called the service guy and he said plug the hole with something so it will air up and bring it in to the shop..Well I dropped the trailer and pulled it up and it acts just fine now.... I think he called it a self leveling valve. Have you ever heard of this goin bad and does it do this?????
Oh, should I dump the air if it is getting unloaded?? The service guy said it would be a good habbit to get into so it doesn't try to keep leveling itself as the lift goes in and out.
