I like The Homiside Hunters Joe Kendas remark on dealing with "Some people belong in a cage,"

He is infavor of " creative ways to punish violent offenders that are like those in Tales Of The Hun that would be fatal."

I don't know about "liberals hysterically weeping" over Lockett, but what has me tearing my hair out is the notion that these kind of depraved individuals deserve a painless death.
The other one, [can't remember his name], whose execution brought the issue to the forefront, had an aunt quoted as saying they didn't feel the untried drug combo was reasonable, as it might cause some pain. Really?!
I'm not in favor of capital punishment, but that doesn't mean I favor "coddling" such depraved specimens of humanity - I think they deserve to suffer, if it happens that way. Not that we should go out of the way to inflict it upon them, but if they do suffer, I can't find a shred of sympathy for them.
That made nursing tough: the premise that being 'nonjudgmental' towards patients known to have killed people while driving drunk, or abused/beaten women or children, in the hope that it would encourage them to accept responsibility, didn't feel right to me. Public scorn is a powerful weapon, and withholding it is not a good idea, IMO.
