How exactly does this work out for the driver?

Whomever gets the 60% usually pays for fuel, tolls and so on. The owner pays for maintenance.

Sixty to the driver helps both driver and owner; the driver learns how to save fuel and drive more gently while doing so, and that leads to less wear and tear on the truck. That helps the owner. It also gives the driver business skills they can use after buying their own vehicle.

Too many variables to say for sure. BTW, I own my own van. For vanners, not a whole lot to go around. For straight trucks, it's a wise way to start :)

Sounds smart. With that, you're out of my wheelhouse; keep searching the forum for info, cos there's a lot of successful people posting here and they're very helpful :)

If you just want to be a steering wheel holder, 40/60 is the way to go, IMO.
