Yea the update was done I think in 1998 or 97. The most common problem is the control units attached to the IP, they had a habit of burning up if there was a lot of heat in the engine area. The other thing may also be the lift pump, which is on the frame rail, not in the tank.
2002's were something that were left over 2001 chassis - if I remember right the 2001's were the last official run for the 6.5 chassis but Penske had a bunch of that were titled as 2002s. Again the I may be off one year.
