Pretty cool, but surprised how high the prices were back then relatively. guess you had to really want to play radio back then!

Thanks Leo! 1939 was a little before my time. Looking through the catalog I could almost smell warm tubes, dust and that waxy stuff on transformers. I remember taking tubes down to the drugstore and using the do-it-yourself tube tester.

1939 was right at my time. I also remember taking the TV tubes to the drug store to be checked. I remember the Radio Shack catalogs and ads had a folksy editorial each time by the CEO of the company. Don't remember what he wrote about, though.
