07 Hino 338 Regen temp

07's don't have DPF. I'm assuming you have an 08.
Normal is around 1100 inlet and outlet.

If you have high inlet temps (stored in system protection data), around 1300, you have an airflow problem. You won't see this during a manual regen, only during auto regen. Record then reset the temps stored in system protection data for future diagnosis.

High outlet temps are often due to injector health and or high idle time.

14xx is when things start to melt.

Thanks for the info, had to replace the exhaust brake, wanted to make sure it was reaching proper temp at Regen. All good.

The exhaust brake has a specific adjustment that must be correct. With the engine warmed up and running at 980 rpm, the injection quantity should be 12mm3 higher with the brake on than off. Only adjust the adjuster that contacts the lever with the brake on. Leave the other one alone.

It's important that this is adjusted correctly.
