    Air brake leak

If it is feeding back into the valve on your dashboard, one of your brake chambers is bad.

New Welder Mahany Welding Supply Rochester N.Y.

Yes, originally. You and your boy sat at the table in our sleeper in my sister's driveway in Holley. And yes on the Mom & Pop. That place has been around since they were selling lead for body filler. They sell lead now to Crosman Arms in Fairport (Pellet guns). Quite the place. Brother has...

New Welder Mahany Welding Supply Rochester N.Y.

You'll need to protect those welds with some paint. Upstate Auto Body Supply is less than a mile from the Rochester Public Market. Go in and ask for J.D. He's the one that looks somewhat like me. Mom said I was better looking, though. Seriously, he'll probably make you a heckuva deal on some...

Mechanical stripped oil pan plug mbe906

New pan, dude. No insert available. After you get the thorough hosing from the friendly jagoffs at Freightliner, might I suggest installing a Fumoto quick valve? Flip a lever, and oil comes out. You can even attach a hose, and not soak your steer axle when the geniuses at Speedco drain your old...

Big Truck ICC Bumper VS. Liftgate For Straight Truck

Ours has a liftgate, but I concede that we avoid auto plants like the plague. It has a bumper also, that was fabled prior to our purchase. Several liftgate manufacturers have add-ons that can accommodate a dock lock. Hope that helps.

Big Truck New Trucks, GVWR, Pusher Axles, and FET......again

The person I spoke of stated to me that if you add the axle much later, the FET is calculated on the current value of the truck, plus the cost of the axle. Their information was obtained in the audit. I don't like playing with the IRS. They don't fight fair.

Big Truck New Trucks, GVWR, Pusher Axles, and FET......again

Nice post, bubblehead. However, if they believe that, then why go through the trouble of adding a liftgate, apu, Roof air, toolboxes, etc.? Sorry. Don't believe it.

Big Truck New Trucks, GVWR, Pusher Axles, and FET......again

Considering buying a truck and adding a tag or pusher axle? Already bought one, and your friendly expedite truck dealer sent you just down the road to “his guy” where you paid cash to have the axle added, outside of the sale of your truck? Better give this some long thought. He told you if you...

    Mileage

Okay....I guess. We've replaced the turbo once, and had exactly one injector fail in 1,020,963 miles. Ours are only 10 years old.

Right you are ..it was a long block. I'm wondering why you'd have to replace all of the other things instead of transferring?

    Mileage

I got it from a Freightliner dealer in Washington state, who got it from Detroit Diesel. Engine was a little over $ 13k, the balance was labor and a few miscellaneous parts. Whoever told you $28k was seriously jerking your chain. They can still be had for the price we paid, today.

Oh, and I know of a few folks that were/are well into the 900k's on their original engine.

    Mileage

I paid $22,303.84 for our reman, installed. That was at 654k on the clock. However, I guarantee it was abused before we bought it. I expect this one to go 700k or more. Almost 400 now. Mileage is 11 if everything is perfect. 10 is average if the slightest thing is off (i.e., wind, valves need...

    Allison transmission

We're at 1,002,037 on ours. Probably should have changed cooler lines sooner. The metal clip inside the push-on fitting gave way a couple of weeks ago. Lucky we made it to the side of the road. We use Delvac ATF. Much cheaper, and ours is just a bit out of warranty. Out of every component on...
