    Sprinter Tires

I never thought to contact my dealer on replacing my tires, but since he was in Kansas, it probably wouldn't have done me much good. I put the Michelins on and am pleased so far... I think I may have had too much air in front tires, was running them at 70# (specs say it should be 47#) lbs and...

    Espar Coolant Heaters

Rlent: you are very likely right on cost of operation, and the airtronic being the better solution. The espar website is a little confusing. I was just up in Canada and got a price of $2575 (Canadian) to install a Webasto engine and bunk heater. Kind of nice feature is you can have a timer...

    Sprinter Mechanic in Detroit/Toledo area

OVM, I think you can get a ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool that will read the codes.. It should also be the same codes as Mercedes, no? Check out the Sprinter group on Yahoo, they are always listing scan guages that read the codes.

    Espar Coolant Heaters

Just looking at the espar website and the Hydronic coolant heaters. Just looking, it seems like they might be a good idea, particularly in really cold areas. From the info it sounds like they will heat both cab and engine, blowing warm air into the cab thru the existing heater ducts. Anyone had...

    Sprinter Mechanic in Detroit/Toledo area

Greg, I'd like to find someone who has a shop, not necessarily a dealer. I've got a great Mercedes mechanic, unfortunately he's in Florida... so I avoid him like the plague :). Ideally I could have some filters shipped to my mechanic, and keep some Mobil 1 on-hand, pay him storage and I'd be way...

    Sprinter Mechanic in Detroit/Toledo area

Can anyone recommend a good Sprinter/Mercedes mechanic in the Detroit or Toledo area? Dealerships are impossible to work with. Thanks

    Sprinter Tires

At 45,000 miles, I see I'm going to have to plan for some new tires on my '07 2500. I'm not impressed by the Continental's, I rotate them about every 15,000 and they're not wearing well at all. I've even had nitrogen in them for the past 25,000 and I can't see that's its helped any. I'm...

Are You Enjoying Your Sprinter ?

Turtle, one other question. Do you still get the windows fogging up with the espar heater? I'm using a small propane heater that I got at gander mountain and it does a great job of fogging them up.

Are You Enjoying Your Sprinter ?

Turtle, I may be wrong, and will check, but I think the delvac 1 is basically the same as mobil 1, just re-labeled. I've had two dealers tell me there's a service bulletin out saying you have to use 'low ash' synthetic in the '07 Sprinters and its around $12 bucks a liter. I haven't seen the...

Are You Enjoying Your Sprinter ?

I've got an '07, 2500, 40,000 miles, and am pleased for the most part. I don't like the high price of oil changes, but I've been doing them at dealerships and I'm going to change that next time I service it. I'm switching to Delvac 1, and at appx $30 a gallon, its cheaper than what I've had to...

    Nitrogen

I put nitrogen in my tires at National Tire and Battery (NTB). Searching on google, I was able to find several places that do nitrogen, Costco being the most prolific. I've had pretty good luck with it, hard to get the tires equally inflated, according to the sensors on my sprinter and now I...

    Ford Van Modifications

Does anyone have contact info for someone who does work modifying vans? My buddy has a Ford 350 he wants to heighten and extend the cargo area. I've seen the roof caps, but don't know about extending the van... thanks.

    new Sprinter

Maybe a dumb question, but why not use the flooring and tie downs that come in the sprinter? The tie-downs work great with nylon web strapping and the floor is designed to haul (and slide pallets in and out) cargo. These trucks have been in use in Europe for a long time and my German friends...

    XM Radio in '07 Sprinter

Got the radio wired direct with a special adapter from Continental Imports in Gainsville, FL. Works great, too bad more people don't know about the adapter. Thanks for all the input.

    XM Radio in '07 Sprinter

Hi everybody! I'm trying to get XM radio hooked up (correctly) in my 2007 Sprinter. I've got it hooked up now where the XM signal booster (terminology ?) is spliced directly onto the antenna at the back of the radio. Doesn't seem to help much.. I have a Sound 5 Mercedes radio system in the...

    Best Synthetic Oil??

Thanks for all the replies. Turtle, your information on European engines was great! I decided to go ahead and use the Mobil 1 -- had the service done at the dealer in Fort Myers/Cape Coral FL. They put in 5W-30, "No Ash", saying that's the latest in the service bulletins from Dodge. I would've...

    Best Synthetic Oil??

Through the years I've gone round and round on this.. but since its almost time for the first oil change in my new 07 Sprinter, its time to ask again: What is the best oil to use? My Sprinter came from the factory with 5w-40 Mobil 1 and factory recommendations are to change it and filter every...
