    Cargo vans again !

Why not look into hauling/pulling campers ? I see alot of retired guys doing that, and from what I see, it is alot more relaxed of an environment. I never really researched it, so it may be worth looking into. To be honest right now, the van/sprinter/cube market is flooded right now, or it...

    Sprinter or Straight?

You are right in wanting a van/Sprinter that can haul 3 skids.don't get anything that can haul any less than that. I think the real question should be, which vehicle has the lowest cost of ownership? Per mile? There is a huge difference between cost of ownership between a straight and a...

    Recruiting Manager at LRT Expedite

My question is this: If it was so bad there, like so many have said,Why did so many stay and put up with it/him? small non-compliant carriers are a dime a dozen.A driver can quit one small carrier in the morning, and be loaded going down the road by the same afternoon with another small carrier.

Looking for company that allows dogs

I hate to say this, but that is way too much.Things like this may be what gets us regulated as what we can and cannot carry in any type of CMV.Where is the safety in this? Too many distractions? I can see a medium sized dog, but more than one would be too much, I would think.I know of a driver...

    Recruiter's Knowledge

I was once offered a job as a recruiter not too long ago.One of the reasons I declined the offer was because I simply did not believe in the company, and it's way of doing business. And if a recruiter doesnt believe in the company, how is he going to be a good recruiter/salesperson to the...

    Cargo Van Business

It is a no -brainer, the difference in a van vs a s/t.I am making the most money now, in a van, that I ever had made since 89.In 2008, while in a straight truck, I grossed $137,000 running myself into the ground as a solo with Polly Express.Great numbers! But, After the $65,000 in fuel for the...

What carriers are taking on vans?

Who said he had to tell me what his rates are??? I didnt, but simply said he hasnt told me what they are lately, or something like that..But you know as well as I do, that when one gets good rates, everyone knows, and when the rates suck, it is not brought up that often, unless you are a...

What carriers are taking on vans?

What a joke. They want you to lease on to them, as a o/o, with lease o/o rates, but pay extra for primary insurance and have youre own authority? There ya go!!

What carriers are taking on vans?

This I just dont understand..Carriers that require a person to carry Primary insurance..(everything in one bundle), as if you hold youre own authority, but pay you leased owner-operator rates...Makes no sense..Prestige used to be that way,and a few others.I have a freind who is leased on with 2...

New Looking to drive a cargo van

You live in Michigan, right? Did you call smaller local companies like Rodriquez out of Taylor, Mi? Most of their out of state loads will bring you back to Mi 85% of the time.I was leased to them, and that is how it was back then.A real cheap company to work for, as far as expenses are...

In light of my awesome week, (lol) I had the opportunity to meet up with a couple of real nice van drivers, one from Canada, leased to Ka-Dac, and the other from Pennsylvania, leased to Fed-Ex.In these tough times, it is nice to see and know that we can have a civil conversation and put our...

    Miles a week?

So let me ask a few questions that have stemmed from the previous posts.Does PTL hire only straight trucks at this time? The problem I have with some companies is that they claim to be a 100% o/o fleet, but come to find out, some of their fleet owners are actually people that work in the office...

    Miles a week?

What good is the "revenue per week" thinking if a driver has a ton of miles accumulated for minimal pay? Eventually he will go bankrupt, because his cost per mile will be higher than his pay per mile, because he is deadheading everywhere chasing loads to get that "revenue per week".
