We bought both our trucks from Freightliner of Knoxville - our 1st one was a very good used truck. Plus, they were very helpful when we decided to get into this business and when we were having issues with the new truck.

It is definitely cheaper to fix the chip than to replace the windshield. I know that Safelite or Diamond/Triumph has mobile units that come to you. The last I knew, in PA, Diamond charged $25 to repair a chip.

Without codes it will try your patience as techs are taught to follow the codes and very few are taught any more how to listen and think diagnostics. It's a shame really because they should be taught and are more than capable of learning, guess it doesn't pay. Piper, I think you say it best by...

They have done all types of tests on this truck and the only one that got any type of reading was Detroit Diesel in CT - that was when it showed the #3 injector was bad. The sad part was, after they replaced the injector and fired the truck, it was still making the same noise. So once again...

Our ProHeat had a loud rattle to it and when Jim took a look at it, the only thing wrong was we lost a bolt! Hopefully that is all that happened to yours.:p:p
