    Sprinter life expectancy

Dealers rip you off. I have heard of $400 oil changes for new sprinter. However, I do all maintenance myself. Save lots of money that way. Posted with my Droid EO Forum App

    Cell phones

To root the phone means to get root access to your phone. In other words, you 'crack' the software on the phone and you can do with the phone other things that the manufacturer and cell company prevents you from doing. One example is that I can get free wireless tether, instead of paying $30 a...

    Sprinter life expectancy

I will have that available by the weekend. That, and fuel cost per mile. I am curious too. But I suspect my maintenance is a lot less than 8 cents per mile. Stay tuned.

    Cell phones

I rooted my phone and I can use wireless tether, but I only do it when I need the internet for short periods of time. The battery on the evo is pretty bad to begin with, and when you turn on the wireless tether, you can almost see the bar going down. I would be dead in about 3 hours, I think...

The discount I get is because of my previous job. Pretty hefty discount.

    Cell phones

I have an HTC evo 4g on Sprint. I have unlimited text and data, and unlimited calls to and from any cell phone, no matter what company. Also free night and weekends beginning at 7. And I think 450 extra for anythingelse not included in the free stuff. I tether my laptop through the phone. Price...

    Sprinter life expectancy

I am working on adding up all my expenses and fuel costs and mileage and parts and everything that went on my van for the 400k miles. I added it up a few years ago and what I saved in fuel cost over a v8 gasser would have paid for a blown engine and transmission. And the higher the fuel price...

    V-6 or V-8?

I know a guy with a Ford V6 with 650k on it right now. Still running strong. I don't know why you guys hate the V6 so much. As for me, I only have a poor old inline 5 cylinder engine. :)

    '06 vans going OOS?

Every company is different, but FedEx will allow a unit already in the fleet to remain as long as it looks good and does not break down a lot. They have to do a visual inspection on the unit every year.

looking to buy a cargo van

No funnel needed. The fumoto drain valve has a little pipe in it probably 1" long and the gas can fits right onto that pipe, open the valve and the oil all goes into the can. I take it in to Advance Auto Parts, or Auto Zone, or Walmart, and I am sure there are a few more who accept used oil for...

looking to buy a cargo van

Turtle, About a year and a half ago when I met you and Eddie at the J in SC somewhere I saw the Fumoto valve and the gas can on your van and I installed one on mine and I bought a gas can and I have been doing my oil changes on the road. Last one was in a sams parking lot in Michigan. I use...

    pay per mile

This is the flat rate we get paid, no more no less. However, nobody should make their decision on what carrier is best to go to based on rates alone. We get paid more per mile than other carriers, but we sit more, and in the end, we bring less money in.

    pay per mile

$0.85/loaded mile plus Fuel Surcharge which right now is 9.7 cents/mile. Deadhead is 15 cents/mile after the first free 50 miles. Fuel surcharge is paid on all authorized miles, including deadhead.

    Sleeper for Sprinter?

I would buy another one, definitely. Haven't had major problems with mine yet, but like RLENT I do the maintenance of my van. Here are 2 things that made me buy the sprinter over the 'good old fashion Ford or Chevy': room and fuel economy. I have 265000 miles on my sprinter and by now the extra...

Ok , what are the monthly $$

I will tell you what fees I pay (I drive a 2004 Sprinter). Truck insurance: $75/month (this is for a $15000 value van, you will pay more for a more expensive van) Work accident insurance: the more money I make, the more I pay, up to $50 weekly, when I don't work I pay $0 Qualcomm: $30/week if...

    Tools for your truck

In my oppinion, there are not many people that will attempt to work on their vehicles. I was rotating my tires (I drive a van) in a truck stop parking lot (you know, waiting for a load and what else can I do better than rotate my tires :D) and another driver stopped by and told me that 'It...

    IFTA tax and fuel price

Thanks Leo, I really learned something today, even though I don't use it since I drive a B unit. But just in case I move up one day, I know how these fuel taxes work. Thanks again. I wonder how do states come up with these tax rates? And how come there is so much difference between 2 sates...
