Dang, you aren't kidding!!!! At first I was going to say just let'em talk whether it is a 4yr old thread......but after reading some of the replies......one expediter is MIA here! Another is in heaven looking down upon us, keeping us safe! But maybe someone got some useful info from a 4yr...

    Cargo vans

I still have my 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 cargo van. I have mounted in it a sofa sleeper from a conversion van, so I can haul freight or family members. It's only got 224,000 miles. I'm not trucking much anymore and wife wants me to sell van.

    Save it or not.

Layout, my reference to you and your standards isn't the fact you're a "freight snob"! Don't really care what freight you haul on your truck. It's the fact of standards of politeness regarding others in and around your truck and Mrs. Layout.

You've got standards and live by them. I like that!

    Nissan NV

Yeah I agree. Bet it will be a sharp looking van. Still bummed that Ford is doing away with the Econoline series. They will be missed. I am a firm believer that competition is a good thing and one should have choices available to them. I was talking with a fedex delivery driver tonight and he...

    Nissan NV

I hope its soon, I can't wait. I've seen a guy with Try Hours who was chilling at our local Wally World in Joliet, IL off I-80 x130. but left him alone figuring he was sleeping.

    Nissan NV

Give it time, and I'm sure the design engineers at Nissan will tweek it and come out with an extended version of the NV model.

Replacing side doors on a Ford CV

I've got a '98 Ford CV and the side doors are rusting out. *(They're not original doors) Has anybody ever attempted to replace van doors and if so how big of a project am I looking at, or would it be smart to find the doors in a junk yard and have a friend who does body work do it for me. The...

    Chef Dennis's New CargoMax

Dennis, in keeping with the type of sleeping arrangement from the old van but not permanently mounted. Build a platform similar to what you had but when you need the extra space for that fourth pallet, etc, be able to fold the platform forward so the base is facing the rear of the drivers seat...

    Non-Expediting Companies

Go to your nearest truck stop and pick up a few of those magazines that specialize in truck driver recruiting and make some calls to the different carriers who are looking for drivers!

Cool van if it wasn't so old

I'm sure there are some small expedite companies or even air freight forwarders or small time logisitics companies that would put that van on as long as it were in good mechanical condition and passed a DOT inspection. *would make a good back up van when one's primary unit is out of service.

    Check engine light off

Ran a 1989 Ford C/V and the check engine was constantly on. Took it to several repair shops even the Ford Dealer couldn't diagnose the problem she ran fine 269,000 miles before I traded it in for a 1998 Ford C/V which I'm still running to this day!

    Your Sprinter Sleeper

I was surfering the net at work last night and googled cargo van sleepers and found a company in South Carolina who does interior modifications for sprinters. he has one for the expediter. Uses up alot of space and gives you plenty of room for a team operation and still enables the van to...

Looking to raise van roof, rear doors

While driving around the Chicago area, I have seen a company called Fore-Tec Medical. They run ford vans with raised roof and doors. You might want to contact them and find out where they get their van modifications done at!

    Van to Dock Ramp

I agree with MC Buggy. Most shippers with call with the order request give the measurements and weight and don't really care how or with what type of vehicle it's moved in! Now I'm sure there are some shippers who are anal about a specific type of vehicle and the carrier makes every effort to...
