    Missie I put a latex pillow from bed bath and beyond in the extra space between the wall and the mattress. Makes for better sleeping for the inside person and an arm rest for reading.     Denver Mattress makes an xl twin that fits perfectly in the bottom bunk and is the most comfortable mattress I've had. About $200-300. Comes in a box wrapped in plastic, cut the plastic and sprunggggggg, awesome. Take it out thru the sleeper side door. I think its 42x88. Xl twin sheets fit.

    Well, it has been an interesting thread for sure. As I mentioned, we used on spots for two years. When they worked, that is, came down into position the way they were supposed to, they are awesome for up to about 4". Why didn't they work some of the time? Because of sand and grit the states...

    I was 23 when I got my FL Chauffeurs license. 110 lbs, 1963 longnose KW, three stick, Cummins. Then cabovers. And wreckers. Then kids. Mount Eagle was awful. West Virginia mostly two lane. Everyone smoked Camels, Lucky Strikes, Marlboro and Kools.

    We drove with auto-chains, put on in Boring, OR. They are helpful only if the powder is less than 4 inches, helpful pulling about 4% grades and downhills, and getting out of parking lots. You can drive about 40 mph with them down, full chains we did not run over 35. They make a nice Santa Claus...
