I too have used the Neatworks scanner for years - and as you have said the settings need editing each time you use it - I have not found a way of saving a default - but its become habit now to go in and set it up the way I want it :D

Yes and Yes :p We have not had any problems , it has car or truck modes, and yes it does Canada just fine. Online downloads are long but easy - we got the updates for life package for it too.

We have a Kindle and it is great - so easy to use. :D Only drawback is there is no back light for night time reading when we are on the road :(
