Are the new satellite receivers on the market yet? If so, where and how much? I know the service is to begin soon, but I haven't seen anything about the receivers.

Like all carriers, they do have some waiting for loads. A lot depends upon the area you're in at the time. The loads you do get are largely GM loads with most paying a low $1.00 per mile. With current fuel prices and some DH miles, you can easily end up working for little profit.

Last several days have been slow. This week is dead, so far. At home, waiting for the QC to show some evidence of life.

Nashville, TN area would be my first choice, followed by western NC or SC.

Marty: The average weight of my last 10 loads was 3,926 pounds. The loads have definitely been getting lighter. I have had one load above 10,000 lbs in a year. I've been hauling a lot of loads that were under 500 lbs. All loads are less plentiful than last year, but especially the heavier loads.

I recently left Tri-State after 2 years running team. Big mistake! They kept us loaded and running and paid us on time. You will get a lot of low rate loads, but that sure beats the heck out of sitting. Good luck.
