Insufficient priviliges but I want to reply

When I drive for A.Blair I created green and red truck markers for my deliveries and pickups. I also purchased an S&T map that had all the truck stops and scales and all identified. I still use that.

Insufficient priviliges but I want to reply

There is a Landstar forum post by Team Caffee regarding agents. I can't reply to their post but hope this will make it to the rest of you. I don't know no agents but I was intrigued that they are still using Streets and Trips. Me too!!!! I just love the software and curse Microsoft every day...

    Tipping

When I stay at a motel/hotel, I leave a tip. If I go to a restaurant, I tip based on service. When I shower at a truckstop, to me, it's the same as if I were tipping my housekeeper or the person who served me graciously at the restaurant. Is a $2.00 tip too much for the drivers who want...

    A. Blair Enterprises

Thanks Tom. Thanks NoProblem (Steve). Thanks Dave. Thanks Paul. I miss being on the road more than anyone can imagine. But, when I stopped driving I didn't know that I would become a personal driver for somebody that would let me drive a Rolls Royce 5 days a week. Today, my boss, his...

    A. Blair Enterprises

Thanks, Steve. FYI, I live in Arlington, TX. Home time was never time off for me as I was constantly going to Laredo and could easily stop by the house to resupply, do laundry or just say "Hi" to the dogs. Also, Steve will attest that there could be some significant deadhead. I was in El...

    A. Blair Enterprises

How is it I am a "Rookie Expediter"? Is it because I haven't posted in a while? From March 2010 until March 2012 I put 360,000 miles on a 2010 Sprinter working for Tom at A. Blair. That's no rookie.

From Straight Truck to Tractor Expediting

It's a bit of a culture and size shock pulling that 53 foot trailer behind you. But, every day gets easier. Don't be intimidated by your trainer. He just doesn't want you to kill him and wants to get as many miles as he can while you are with him. It's all about the money. When I trained, I...

From Straight Truck to Tractor Expediting

I'm writing that letter. I went straight truck expediting, T/T OTR,T/T expediting, T/T OTR, then Sprinter expediting. It's just late right now and I need to finish my gin and tonic before I go to bed (I'm at home). I'll finish it tomorrow.

GPS Microsoft Kills Off Streets & Trips, MapPoint

You cannot get a gps unit to give you a good view of your entire route; very difficult to see the detail when checking distances and alternates. I used S&T on my laptop when I first started driving reading the route from my laptop stand using the antenna. I have a lot of faith now in a...

GPS Microsoft Kills Off Streets & Trips, MapPoint

I will surely miss it. Although I don't drive a CMV any longer, last July I went with my boss and his family on a 35 day vacation out west in a 45 foot Thor RV. Every day we planned our drive and attractions using Streets and Trips. I saved every day's mapping as part of the "scrap book" of...

    Turbo Tax.

I have always used the Turbo Tax that includes Form C for business expenses. Last year I used Taxslayer online. It worked, and was inexpensive. But I felt blind filling it out as it didn't let me look at the forms like Turbo Tax does. But, we're talking $19.99 for Taxslayer vs. Turbo Tax at...

    Turbo Tax.

I don't know which versions of Turbo-Tax do the per diem, but I always said my occupation was truck driver and on the travel expenses, I indicated that I was subject to DOT HOS regulations. That let me put in my full per diem and Turbo-Tax would calculate my 80% deduction.
