    Two Questions (Could be controversial)

I think someone needs to go back to work at McDonald's, or maybe for the UAW. Here's the answer you asked for: 1. Yes there is a place for compensation.....if you're an employee, OR your lease agreement states that you are entitled to something. Otherwise, you are a small business owner...

    Question about express one

Minimums are going to mean very little if the market won't support it.

The thread that can't be hijacked

Not only can my company offer you holidays at home, but as long as you are available at least two of the five business days of the week, we can get you home by Friday night or Saturday noon at the latest. Everyone knows that freight only moves between 8 and 5 on the weekdays.

    Question about express one

Wingnut, Most of these carriers can't even uphold their contract rate with the owner ops right now, much less give a few pennies surcharge. At this point, how many miles people are getting is pretty irrelevant. Ya might get make $1040 that week for 800 miles, or your might make $1040 for 1020...

Am I the only one who thinks this is bull crap

That's exactly why, as a small 1 truck carrier, I took myself out of much of that "expedite overflow" loop. So many of those industries and customers have been so canabalized that there is nothing left. Yeah, I still partner with some of them, but I've found a green field for myself at home.

    Would you take this run??

Yeah, I'm not sure I've seen or heard any armchair quarterbacks. The thread was started by a request for input from forum members. Even among small carriers and fleet owners in this thread, everyone I know of drives a truck or at least has driven a truck.

    How picky are vans?

Hey Charles. The word is out. The problem is, you're gonna have a whole bunch of cargo van operators knocking on your door for a lease agreement now. I just can't figure out how and why that guy has been with you for a month, been offered at least six decent paying loads (especially out of...

    How picky are vans?

Seriously, is it really that much harder to get a load out of Florida than anywhere else these days?

    How picky are vans?

I can see that, but ATL is just as bad these days because all of the FL deadheaders go there. I would have probably taken the load, and deadheaded up I-95 instead. I would've gotten me out of ATL for sure.

    Would you take this run??

I remember seeing that load the other day! On a Straight truck, absolutely. Your "expensive truck" would be getting more expensive by sitting right now, There are a lot of things worse than $1.03 all miles right now. However, you would've probably gotten a load once you got back into Canadian...

    How picky are vans?

All you guys that think you have the freight lanes figured out these days need to just keep on deadheading out of Florida when you come. It just means more freight is going to local carriers like myself and less to the big national expedite carriers. Charles, I agree he is in breach of...

    Everybody getting paid?

Hey Guido. DaveKC is right. The issue with unsubstantiated claims on here is a legal one. If a carrier isn't paying you, they won't be paying EO, and therefore won't be advertised here. I'm sure you wouldn't like it is another O/O with your company suddenly called them to report you of some...

The Thread You Can Use When You Need To

Yeah, I know. Unfortunately, I had lent out my left-handed monkey wrench to another O/O,

What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

Dogs, cats, iguanas, minks, rabbits, monkeys, live snakes and bees. They've all seen my truck at some point.

What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

I delivered a cat head once to the health dept. for rabies testing. Evidently, they were hoping to come up negative on the cat head, so the little 4 year old boy that had been bitten didn't have to undergo rabies shots. Ouch!

The Thread You Can Use When You Need To

I for one am ALWAYS predispatched. Just ask me. Heck, I've got five loads lined up right now..... Unfortunately, the last time I was predispatched with that many loads, I inadvertently ran out of blinker fluid in the middle of the Everglades and had to forfeit the other four runs. Such is...

Try Hours Still hasn't paid me

I wish it weren't so, but when demand is high and supply has slowed, it puts many companies in "survival" mode. If you're with a smaller carrier, ie. 300 units or less, you company may have worked really hard to get you that "cheap load" that you just turned down. It may not be their shipper...

Try Hours Still hasn't paid me

Well I haven't been around here much lately. Sometimes it's just too depressing when listening to so many bad stories about no freight or no pay. This may be more info than is warranted to this particular thread, but here goes. Mods have my cooperation in moving this it indeed it does not...

    recommendtion please

Oh, I know there is a lot more. Unfortunately, there are many carriers who won't acknowledge that, and they (and their O/Os) are suffering for it.

What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

Poorboy, All I know about that Ford place is that it has a test track there. I knew guys who delivered air shipments from Tampa to that site. usually it was several skids of special tires.
