An Expedite Upset in the Making?

Well, who knows for sure what the effect will be on the industry. First Class has more presence than many know. Just because they don't advertise here.... E-1 is no dummy. They are just putting down lots of roots. Bounce and CGL acquisitions provided roots into the truckload and...

    Cargo van freight

So how many laid off GM'ers are going to be hopping into cargo vans, only to find that their Michigan/Ohio van freight disappeared with their plant closing?

    Any truth to these rumors?

Never heard this rumor until today.

    ta expedite king rewards......

I like CharlesD's idea of gym membership, especially for vans who can get to them easily w/o worrying about HOS. You spend 45-60 bucks for a membership, but you can use it anywhere, and take your shower at the gym. Nice.

"Could you move your truck so I can park?"

I had try to hit me last Monday at Bill's Truckstop near Lexington, NC. Being in an S/T, I like to back it a bit more, so my steers are about even with any adjoining tractor tandems. It's just less noise that way, and it allows a little more room to a trailer backing next to me w/o getting...

    Busy? - You bet!

Ah yes....deep pockets. I think you and our president are looking for the same thing.....other people's money. What was the line? "The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." -- Margaret Thatcher

A Question for SUCCESSFUL Solo Drivers

Yep. I run solo. I have never run team, so I cannot speak for it. I never quite understood why so many but blindly believe that this is a "team model" business. If anyone believes this, then fine. If anyone believe this simply because that was the propaganda fed to them by recruiters and...

Nayone has their own authority pulling staright truck non cdl freight?

Re: Nayone has their own authority pulling straight truck non cdl freight? *Yes, go for at least a CDL class B, even if the truck he uses in the beginning is under CDL. A CDL license on a vehicle requiring a CDL will be horrendous on his insurance for the first two years, especially running...

A video worth its weight in silence!

I've learned to have everything ready for show, but hand over nothing more than what is asked for. I was stopped at a FL scale house and asked to come in and show my license and registration. I had my insurance, med card BOL, and logs ready to go, but I wasn't about to produce them if they...

Nayone has their own authority pulling staright truck non cdl freight?

I've seen some smaller reefer units on those little 14 ft Isuzu NPRs that aren't so hefty. Of course, I still couldn't answer the question completely. Are you still running your FL70?

Nayone has their own authority pulling staright truck non cdl freight?

Henboy, Whether you use Getloaded or ITS, you're going to run out of available weight before you can haul enough LTL freight to pay your way. I hope there is more to your plan than that. Now, if you had a few local shippers as customers moving expedited loads outbound, you could charge a high...

    Expedite dead now JB Hunt

GUESS WHAT I JUST HEARD? I made a drop back in Orlando this morning. I had to wait, as there were three trucks ahead of me. Sitting in the driver booth, I got to talking with an O/O with ATS transport. He mentioned how he had just bought his own truck and how things were slow and rates were...

    Expedite dead now JB Hunt

Another scenario: JB Hunt's customer uses drop trailers. Suddenly the load got upgraded to an expedite, but the two bobtails weren't scheduled to arrive until the next morning. JB Hunt does advertise expedited services to their customer, just not "in-house."

    TriState lawsuit

I think it's more about discontentment with this poster. He started the bashing with Fedex. Yesterday he started a thread accusing Bolt of misconduct, and today it's Tri-State. Not even sure if he is an O/O. Sounds like truckstop talk to me.

    Backhaul Websites for Cargo Vans/LTL???

Since we're talking about backhauling into a "good" area, can someone please define what a "good" area is these days? If you're a newbie, know this: All of the rules have changed as to what are "good" and "bad" areas That's all I'm going to say.

    Backhaul Websites for Cargo Vans/LTL???

Getloaded and Internet Truckstop are about the best out there. Rates are the same pretty much anywhere, but some boards like these two just have higher memberships. Expect .50 per mile at most on an LTL right now. Charles told me of a couple of times getting a buck a mile with a couple of...

    Status Clarification

Are you kidding. Some have considered themselves vets after 2 months of driving for an owner. I think I must be skipping to Ol' Fart rather quickly, mostly based on my recent lack of patience for some foolishness I've witnessed lately.
