87 car pile up in Cincy and a 52 car pile up in Middletown

I set my cruise to 42 the other day in Benton Harbor and downshifted a gear, It's not worth wrecking your truck, like the last member said, shut down get a hotel and let the freight get there when it does. Take your time, any semi drivers slow down! We know your fuel is paid for but it's ten...

    Nice Rig!

How do you guys drive those things? Do you eyes ever get tired of looking back 53 ft behind you for oncoming traffic? I take it the suspension systems are nice. I'd love to have a volvo w/ 22 ft box if I had 100k sitting in the bank. :)

What is more comfortable after driving 700 miles a straight truck or sprinter?

Really!! Can you post up a link? I just spent $450 on a seat that came out of a $90k automobile. Got it out of junkyard but you still get banged up with no air suspension and I miss my armrest so much.

Anywhere to throughly wash a sprinter underneath and whole truck in CHICAGO IL?

I need to get all the nasty road salt off my truck before it starts looking like some of the other ones I've seen around here. I have the hi roof sprinter with that lousy qualcomm old school roof satellite. If you know of a place. I'm down to spend ten 5- 10 bucks or I can do it myself.

    The Advantages of Winter Expediting

I slept in 3 degree weather the other night in Detroit MI at the walmart parking lot, coldest night of my life. Luckly I had a zero degree bag, wool socks, hat, etc.

What is more comfortable after driving 700 miles a straight truck or sprinter?

I have a class b cdl but have never driven a straight truck that many miles. Seems they have much better suspensions and you guys running straight trucks feel the road less. If you look under a t700 kw you see a gap of air like a few inches. I wish my sprinter was more comfortable but I...

What is the average weight of a straight truck load?

I don't think I will ever make it to a straight because of dot reg's on solo drivers. I do like the idea being in a more comfortable safer rig.

Why does panther put you on a pro before you even accept?!

Do they really think that you're supposed to take every load they offer?

    Who's staying out this weekend?

Had to turn down two loads last week out of Denver. One to Sacramento and one to Mt Vernon. West bound i70 was 30 inches of snow, east bound was closed. If we can get some loads going that would be nice. Winter and expediting just don't mix enless you got your rig pimped out like all you guys...

    Staying warm this winter?

I'd rather sleep in the 80 degree heat then I would 5 degrees in the middle of the Chicago winter.

    Tensioner Pulley's

Be sure to use OEM Mercedes parts when working with anything that is drive train. Some guy in the sprinter forums have used aftermarket serp belt tensioners and have had to fix again after 20k miles. How many miles do you have on your MB4000 engine? I've heard good and bad things about that...

Volvo cabover, new for 2013, maybe

I agree there's always a chance, a different circumstance for every type of collision. What kinda truck do you drive now?

Volvo cabover, new for 2013, maybe

The driver seems like he will avoid impact since he is sitting much higher then where the impact would come. As long as you didnt get hit by a semi you would be fine. Just a observation. Sharp truck, reminds me of the 80's early 90's trucks i'd see on long summer trips back in the day ;)

    Staying warm this winter?

That would be a miracle if I could win one! I'm planning on having a big west coast load pay for mine that is when I get one. :) For now its me and a good 30 min idle and transfer right over to that sleeping bag and by the time the truck gets cold again which will be about 10 min I should be...

    New Dodge Promaster VAn

I see that 4 motion sprinters have not hit the market yet... to solve some of these problems. Course that would raise the price another 10K. Sprinter is a 500k+ rig. Transit and Fiat have yet to prove.

How common is overloading vans and Sprinters?

The most I generally like hauling in my 06 sprinter is about 2-2500 lbs. I one time did haul a 3300 lb load across Tennessee but most of my loads have been in the 1k range give or take. A buddy of mine said he took over 4k once in his 05 sprinter. If you go much heavier the mudflaps start...

Volvo D11 Eco-Torque or Paccar PX-6, which has best economy?

Would it be possible to take sleeper from a wrecked volvo 780 and weld it to a VNL 300 or a VN 430 straight frame truck? I imagine a used sleeper would be a pretty decent deal, I really like the factory sleepers from the 780, seems like plenty of room and really tall. Anyone with a straight...
