    Sports Talk on EO!

I don't know about the legality of it or if LM would approve but it might be fun to start a Fantasy Footbal League on EO. T Hawk knows the NFL ,perhaps he could run it.

    7 ON 7 OFF

Well from one Army grunt to another here is another scenario that could create problems. Lets say team A is finishing up their week and they are close to home but the truck suffers a breakdown. Now it takes 5-6 days to fix the problem so Team B does nothing for the week. The truck comes back...

Now a 50 caliber on the hood would help you get through the hood.

    7 ON 7 OFF

That would only give you 50% availability which many carriers will not accept. The rule of thumb is generally aminimum of 60% availability plus your drivers may have long trips to get home for their week off, which will cost you revenue. I don't know your relationship with your friends or...

    TruckStop and Rigs

The trouble with that Pilot is that it has no real nearby competition so the fuel prices are about .10 per gallon more then in Columbia or Greenville. Used to be a good Southern Restaurant across the street.

    bring home money

The other day you mentioned that your wife didn't drive. This will severly impact your revenue. If you are going to operate solo you may have a difficult time finding an owner who is willing to let you run his truck as a solo driver. You can expect to gross somwhere in the upper 60's to the low...

Update, first of all I want to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts and prayers.I saw a Dr today and all is well. The device has only kicked in about 1 % of the time which is a good sign. He also said that I could probably continue on if I wanted to but at this time I am ready to get off...

    Subject: Engineering Problem.

The trucking companies insurance company just bought a bridge. Now the trucking company will have no insurance. I bet the driver bought him/herself unemployment real quick. Lucky that no one was in the middle of the bridge when that happened.

    Fact or fiction?

Cheri, yeah but if he was at a light the engine must have been running and he had to drive to get to that light. I have a neighbor who got a DUI while sleeping in his car. He had left a club, started up his car, decided he had too much to drink and went to sleep. It was explained to him that, if...

    Fact or fiction?

I think you could beat this nonsence. The key word is DUI,driving while Intoxicated. Somehow I think sleeping while intoxicated doesn't count whether you are in a vehicle or at home. How can the police legally charge you with DUI while you are sleeping.

    Fact or fiction?

The key word in that site was in section A Part 3, "On Duty",so you could interpet it to say if you are offically logged off duty it is OK for you to posses alcholic beverages in the truck.

    Fact or fiction?

Well it's highly unlikely to happen but even if your truck is out of service, you could get a call that asks you to help out another driver who is ill etc,or even rent a truck to rescue a stranded shipment.. As A Team says,if you are going to drink take both the truck and your self out of service.

    Fact or fiction?

Well I will keep playing Devils Advocate. I think if the truck is out of service and you are the owner it reverts to a privately owned vehicle. If you are not engaged in commercial operations or waiting to be engaged in commercial operations then DOT rules don't count. I remember reading that...

    Fact or fiction?

How about the RV crowd at a Nascar Race or a football game. They have their keys in their possession and booze it up big time. I don't think possession of keys while drinking in your SLEEPER with the engine OFF constitues a problem.

    newbie

What the owner is offering you is prety much the standard in this industry. It is a good opportunity for you to get your feet wet and see if this type of trucking is for you.It would be a good idea to have some type of written agreement spelling out the owner's responsibilities and yours. Example...

Speedco has raised there price's again

Kinda way off the beaten track but the best lube and oil change service I have ever had was at the TA on I 80 west of Salt Lake City UT. The shop foreman told me that guys make appointments and drive 300+ miles out of their way to have their trucks serviced there.

    Ever feel like a target?

I covered up the phone numbers on my truck after a incident in San Antonio a couple of years ago. It was about a 100 degrees out and we had spent the night in a motel. At about 0900 the next morning the phone rang and it was Fededx safety wanting me to take a random test. Someone had called and...

Also if you are pushing a computer or something on wheels on carpet the plywood makes it much easier and doesn't damage the carpet.
