Class 6 Truck Ok for Expediting?

What do you think a KW T270 or Peterbuilt 335 class 6 w/ 72" benz sleeper would weigh? I was in Laredo once for a day and had the privilege to meet the owner and ride in this PB 335. I was pretty impressed! Jabez - Expediting & Logitics Too bad Volvo doesn't make a class 6. That would be the...

Who's decision is it to determin which loads the truck takes, Driver or Fleet Owner?

Re: Who's decision is it to determin which loads the truck takes, Driver or Fleet Own I think there should be a industry standard pay scale suggested by the carrier to the owner. That would have saved me a lot of headache. Right now this seems pretty legit. 60% to driver 40% to owner (Driver...

Class 6 Truck Ok for Expediting?

 What is the minimum size sleeper you can have now a days? That volvo vnm 630 may be able to be ordered from the factory with extended frame ready to drop a box on it and it comes with a 61" sleeper. Too bad you can't get them used. It's rare that anyone buys them, they usually opt for the...

Re: Who's decision is it to determin which loads the truck takes, Driver or Fleet Own Best to get a 4 week notice from driver in contract or hold $360 from their check. $90 x 4 weeks, and spend that 4 weeks looking for a better driver. If the driver gives you a 4 week notice you release the...

Why not just go with the VNL 730 and get the larger sleeper? Better mpg is always more appealing.

Who's decision is it to determin which loads the truck takes, Driver or Fleet Owner?

Re: Who's decision is it to determin which loads the truck takes, Driver or Fleet Own I wasn't as concerned about the 425 miles going on the truck for $48 as much as I was concerned about the the miles we lost because the driver never made it back to Cleveland/Akron to get another load, driver...

Who's decision is it to determin which loads the truck takes, Driver or Fleet Owner?

Re: Who's decision is it to determin which loads the truck takes, Driver or Fleet Own Driver would run 2500-3000 a week if the miles were there but the average lately is 1200-1800, if a Laredo is thrown into the picture that 1800 turns into 2500.

Who's decision is it to determin which loads the truck takes, Driver or Fleet Owner?

Example Driver takes a run that pays for 120 miles but is 425 miles all in with deadhead and moving back to good freight area. Driver gets 150 bonus. Fleet owner ends up making $48. I don't think many fleet owners would want their trucks going 425 miles for $48, just doesn't seem worth it...
