    I think, and I could be wrong, that waiting for a load in a truckstop, or anywhere else, is no longer consider on-duty, not driving. Before the changes it was, but wasn't really enforced. I mean, can you imagine? Nothing would have gotten done. I've never, in 30 years, seen the DOT wandering...

    As Terry pointed out, it depends on the states definition of a commercial vehicle. If they go by the federal definition, crossing wouldn't be required. Personally, I haven't crossed any scale in over 7 months. I think the vast majority of officers working in the scales don't want to be bothered...
