Take it out...build some nice wrap around cabinets...or shelving. Ive seen some really neat looking stuff built into upper bunk areas. As a solo, I always wanted to cut the center section out of the lower bunk and slide a recliner in there :) then sleep in the upper bunk.

On my way to Mootville...not so great of a rate...but you know.... sweety, honey ....lol. Would have been a good load for OVM, they called before I left the shipper asking if I wanted them to bid a load going to ND.

your setup...as I understand it.... would be the proper way to set up that business model. It's not my understanding that others do it that way.

If I thought the "net" income was better, I could be persuaded. I think some of them run more miles but Im not aware of any that run at good enough rates to attract me....which equals better gross..maybe...but the net may not be any better than mine. OVM's objective comment rings true in that...

Im sure that it is done. It is my understanding that there would be some insurance concerns if two different carriers are involved. Im not sure if it could be done on a regular basis, alot of variables that have to fall in place for it to work on a time sensitive load. But yes, could be...

Driving solo straight truck for fleet owner

I totally and completely disagree. What you say would be true if...and only if...the team truck brings in twice as much money as the solo truck. Most don't. The solo driver may not get as many loads and he/she may not gross as much as the team, but the solo driver will get 100% of the driver...

Ive always considered that when you get to Laredo, your not hurting until you've spent a full week mon-sat. So, for me, you've not been there a full day yet. You had a good long run to get there and you'll likely get a good long run out. Take a nap, relax, be prepared for a long run when the...

    Skirts

To the original post. If I were ordering a new truck, i would order it with factory fairings to the back of the sleeper, from there I would likely use side boxes starting as close to the fairings as possible. If I decided to use a skirt, it would start behind the boxes and continue to the first...

I've seen the heat/lack of cooling mentioned a couple of times. It would be my opinion that skirts would have no more...or less... effect on cooling of the drive axle/axles than the factory fairings installed on a large number of new otr tractors. Also, aftermarket fenders have been available...

Can You Quantify EOBR $$$ Benefits?

Liability sbould be our biggest concern with anything we do out here. A DOT cop can ruin your day or week or month...maybe even your year if they hit you hard enough. A lawyer can ruin your life.
