South Carolina: possible to both obey the speed limit & impede traffic

Just yesterday on I-20 an armored cash truck running left lane doing 55 in a 70. Traffic backed up for miles. SC won't attempt to stop either an armored truck or a scheduled bus (Greyhound etc) unless they feel their creating a danger. Also had a loaded school bus on I26 outside Columbia...

I guess we don't get a response about staying logged on.

10K-8K-6K and a buck a mile. Makes you wonder why people are afraid to buy them.:) I once replaced a tranny with a Jasper, it lasted two weeks and never got my money back even after paying for the best warranty.

    expediting: passion or necessity

Not a day goes by when talking to my 4 drivers that I think of hitting the road again. After 42 yrs the asphalt just turns your blood black. Then I start thinking of I-294 @ 4pm on a Friday going away from home and not towards it. Then my thoughts start getting alittle foggy. One driver of...

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying how it was forty plus years ago. Times have changed with business practices and the electronics. If they have a contract then yes you should be paid period no excuse. There are some brokers and company operators that could care less about paying...

    New update

I agree with the others. Maybe another small side bar on the left?

    Whirlwind Express

I guess if they don't want to get paid it's not their concern. A lot of brokers don't pay until they are paid. It used to be a normal practice until the operators could not operate w/o advances.

Sounds like they don't pay you until they get paid. Some companys factor their recievables which cuts their draw about 5%, they probably don't. The best way to find out these things is call them direct and question them from a list you have made up and reading from. Also ask for references...

If your talking of less than 10K C/Van the answer is a simple no. 100K Cargo insurance 1,000,000 liability

Obama and State department kill Keystone pipeline

I don't think there is a large amount of jobs once the pipe line is built. It will mostly be automatic just like the pipe lines in place now. But the amount of construction jobs and just think about how many truck loads of pipe at 40' each it will take to do it. I can see a lot of truckers...

Obama and State department kill Keystone pipeline

Please don't take this wrong because if anyone here can't stand O'bama its me. Just my thoughts. Nebraska agreed to a new route around the water trofe. I think what OB has in mind to pease everyone is to let Canada run the pipe line to Vancouver BC and everyone compete for that oil on the...

    A&E shipping wars LOL

Yes he did ask for vehicle insurance, like they are required to do when stopping anyone. Most cops don't even think about liability (commercial). But anyway like you say another story.

    A&E shipping wars LOL

Still doesn't answer the insurance question. Most DOT guys never check that issue because most are carrying freight for a major recognized carrier. They don't think of it when they stop joe blow. Seems to me that's where you could shut most of those people down because they are hauling for...

    A&E shipping wars LOL

The guy in the van pulling a trailer was really pitiful. He's probably already out of business. Matter of fact was it a business? It also amazes me that no one challenges cargo and liability insurance with such high valued freight.

    A&E shipping wars LOL

It's a funny thing, you pull a load for a company that pays top dollar, they are nice people, easy to get along with and you never hear a complaint. You pull a load for a cheap company and you get nothing but crap. These people that that ship cheap;) like this as well as those who hire them...

    Being sick on the road

I stand corrected on the pressure, I put to many zeros in it. As far as cars and hoses, you need to spend some time in NY watching them fight fires. You cannot make a claim because of damage because you interfered with fire operations. The cops on the scene are writting tickets. Don't get in...
