    Qualcom/Panther

Hiya folks, I hadn't really considered applying at Panther but since I've now inadvertantly clicked that ad enough times I have a question just in case I get a subliminal urge to apply. I had felt up until this time that as a non Panther driver it wasn't my place to ask this question. I've...

How much would you charge for....

Hiya Bob, I mailed ya a few days ago. Guess maybe it didn't go thru or something. It was sent to your AOL addy. She's no longer interested. Not only cuz of the price but also cuz she's hesitant to have someone she doesn't know drive her vehicle. Take care, Danny

How much would you charge for....

DannyD, No disrespect but $1000 is too cheap. This is 2300 miles of driving and possible breakdowns, flat tires or putting oil in it every 200 miles. What I find odd is that here is a thread on a site that many people say 'Say NO to Cheap Freight' - well this is an example of cheap frieght...

    g-p-s

If ya have a laptop I'd suggest Streets & Trips. Ya can get it on sale at various places w/ the GPS unit for about $90. I don't have anything else to compare it to, but I've used that b4 & liked it. Good luck to ya, Danny

    career change to expediting

I'd need a lil more information b4 any suggestions could be made. I'm not sure how well ya get paid for those 3 days. In expediting if ya were to stay out 5 days my guess is ya'd average $800/week BEFORE expenses. Some make more for sure, but that's all I'd think ya can count on if you're...

    >Since getting our Sprinter we've been able to grab close too >or exceed the monthly payment on upgraded loads. Dynamex has >a standard van rate, a one Ton rate and will go to a C rate. >We've gotten as high as $1.30/mile plus FSC for one load. >Sure beats 77 cents > >Reasons for gettimng a...

    Ford's better idea?

He used to say"the quickest way to get fired >from GM is propose something radical that might rock the >boat". Senior VP's that essentially do nothing but push >papers around do not want a change that might affect their >bonus. > >A good deal of American manufacturing was that way. The old...

    2-Skid Cargo Van: Expediting Dinosaur??

My comment: My take on it is if Sprinters are paid a higher rate for all runs, not just 3 skid runs, then I can see where it may be the way to go. If they're paid at the same rate as a Ford or GMC van, then ya need other reasons (like using the extra room as a sleeper or something) to get one...

    Ford's better idea?

Quite a powerful post. Yes, it changed my mind on some of the things. I never felt that 90% of the workers were lazy, though I do feel that some of the people in shipping/receiving don't care. I found it more on a plant by plant basis. Ford Dearborn & Louisville is a good examples of chaos in...

How much would you charge for....

A lil update here. She's not willing to pay $1,000, which I said in the original post. She's also hesitant to have someone she doesn't know drive her vehicle. So in that regard I jumped the gun in asking if anyone was interested in taking it. For that I am sorry for any inconveniences I...

How much would you charge for....

wow, some of the exact logic I used w/ my mom. Though I didn't use the 4 times factor. I was throwing this out there in case someone maybe wanted to go out to Washington for other reasons. I had a hunch my price was reasonable. I was more just double checking on the price & then throwing out...

How much would you charge for....

A friend of my moms has a motorhome that she wants driven from Michigan to Washington state. She'd then fly me back to Michigan. I told my mom I'd charge $1000 plus the flight. Gas is paid for though I'm on my own for food. My mom felt her friend would think that's a bit high. The trip is to...

    New Panther Ad

LOL!!!! This post had me rolling!! I came on to post about on a trip to Washington & pretty much the same thing happened to me. I had the speakers full volume when I signed on. And yea, I'll fess up, I jumped a bit too. Maybe I'd get along well w/ your dogs. Take care, Danny

Please Help me get rid of Panther Ad

ok & thanx. Though the ad has come up b4 a fair amount of times. So it's kinda set up in a way that's going to lend to me passing the mouse over I imagine. This time I was listening to music b4 coming on here & the speakers blared out their ad. I'll obviously be turning down the volume b4 I...

Please Help me get rid of Panther Ad

When I came on to this site this Panter ad starts blaring out at me. Now the thing is verbal. How do I change my settings so I don't get this when I sign on all the time? Yeesh, it's bad enough Panther has to aggravate it's own drivers. Does it have to aggravate drivers for other companies...

    2-Skid Cargo Van: Expediting Dinosaur??

    >I got 11-12 MPG with the Ford van. With the Sprinter, it >varies between 18 and 23, depending on how I'm loaded and >how fast I drive, but overall it's right as 21 MPG. > >At $2.50 a gallon, it cost me 20.8 cents a mile to move the >Ford. It's 11.9 with the Sprinter. That's an 8.9 cent a...

6% savings on gas/3% after first year

    >That can be a good card to have as long as you are aware of >the stipulations on the rebate. >Those are good cards but you have to read the fine print. >They have lots of stipulations on them. That is exactly correct, hence the edit in my post. Part 2 of your comment is also exactly...

6% savings on gas/3% after first year

There's an offer from Citi Bank for a 6% rebate in fuel purchases in the first year & 3% after that. This offer also applies to grocery purchases & drugstore purchases. I'm guessing your credit is going to have to be pretty good to get this card, as they're not going to give it to just anyone...

    2-Skid Cargo Van: Expediting Dinosaur??

    > The day is here more Companys are Just Taking Sprinters >on...so When my GMC is wore out I see a Sprinter in my >Future. I agree & disagree. I totally agree that's what companies would prefer & at least for awhile things will go in that direction. I also think what's gonna happen is that...
